
Alexandra Rose Raisman (born May 25, 1994) is a retired American artistic gymnast, and a two-time Olympian. She was captain of the 2012 "Fierce Five" and the 2016 "Final Five" U.S. women's Olympic gymnastics teams that have won individual team competitions.At the 2012 Olympics in London she was awarded gold medals in team and floor competitions, in addition to the bronze medal for the balance beam, making her the most well-known American gymnast to compete at the Games. She took home a team gold medal during the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Gabby Douglas and Raisman are the only Americans to have two consecutive gold medals at this event. Raisman was awarded silver medals in the individual all-around and floor exercise. Raisman also earned silver medals for the individual all-around , as well as in floor exercise. She was also the two-time champion of national competition in floor exercises (2012,2015) and the 2012 national champion on the balance beam and five times medallist in all-around at national championships (silver and bronze in 2016 and 2010, as well as in 2011 (2012), 2012 and in 2015). In 2013 she was inducted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.
