
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She plays as a striker and captains for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top level of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from the year 2018 to 2020. [8][9] Morgan was selected number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she was able to graduate early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional at the time and played a major role in helping the team win the league championship. Morgan was just 22 at the time was the youngest athlete in the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which the team finished second. She scored the match-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final match during the 2012 London Olympics. She was the second player in the United States with 21 assists and 20 goals in 2012, which made her the seventh-highest-scoring player to achieve 20 goals in a single year. She was then awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete Of The Year and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan was instrumental in helping the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was selected to the Dream Team in both tournaments. In the year 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
